WHO WE ARE
Who we are
The European Conference is the alliance of national Justice and Peace Commissions in Europe.
The Conference of European Justice and Peace Commissions works in coordination with and in complement to the other church actors at European level (CCEE, Comece, Caritas etc..)
We are in constant contact with the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace. We see ourselves as part of the world-wide Justice and Peace family and we are committed to it in a practical way.
The Conference contributes to raise awareness of the Catholic social doctrine in the European societies and in the European institutions. It feels particularly committed to the poor, to those deprived of their rights, to the victims of persecution, war and expulsion as it speaks out in favour of their concerns.
The spiritual dimension of its work for the cause of justice, peace and reconciliation is of essential importance to the Conference.
We make a contribution to a united, free and just Europe. Therefore we are committed to the unification process in Europe as this is the greatest political peace project in European history.
The Conference intends to help Europe to take its responsibility arising from the past and from the present, particularly for the countries in the South.
