The Commission of the Croatian Bishops’ Conference “Justitia et Pax” has been founded in 1993. After the constitution of the Croatian Bishops’ Conference. From the very beginning of its work the Commission was confronted with terrible war events in this region. It heartily continually intercessed for termination of aggression on Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina as well as for respect of the rights and freedoms of endangered population. The Commission promoted rightful peace, the right of nation on self-determination, it advocated the return of refugees and plead for respect of their possessions. The reactions of the Commission were strong and resoluted whenever the human rights were violated. In post-war period the Commission focus it’s work in social area (the rights of employers, social injustice), ecology and protection of life from conception until the natural death.
