Objective: The Commission researches and studies, in the spirit of service to the Church and its Institutions and members, the evangelical aspects of justice and peace. It seeks to foster awareness within the Church Community members of their duties and responsibilities in promoting peace and justice. It also seeks to participate in dialogue with socio/political organisations and institutions on all matters relating to social justice.

Work priorities:
  1. creating, through participation in the media and publication of literature, awareness of the Social Teachings of the Church.
  2. giving advice to the Archbishop, as and when required, on response to issues with an impact of justice and peace.
  3. organising activities related to Peace and Justice on the Annual World day of Peace.
  4. keeping contact with the Pontifical Commission for Justice and Peace and other International Commisions for Justice and Peace.
  5. Our priorities for 2022-2024 are:
A politics characterised by respectful dialogue, truthfulness and justice
A more sustainable and socially just economy
A culture of encounter instead of a culture of waste and indifference
